A short walk will bring you to the local village shops and pubs. In the surrounding area, you will also find fishing, a 9-hole golf course, a bowling club and the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust. The Victorian resort town of Southport is just a 10-minute drive away. There is a leisure suite, which offers fitness equipment, a sauna and a jacuzzi.

Furthermore, their Carbon Neutral commitment funds tree-planting projects to offset the carbon emissions of the electricity and gas consumed on site, together with the fuel used in their vehicles and grass cutting machinery.
As the park is situated adjacent to a Site of Special Scientific Interest and Conservation Area, the surroundings are home to various wildlife, meaning that there are obstacles such as rabbit holes that you need to avoid. To preserve the rural nature of the park, and reduce light pollution, the park limits the amount of outside lighting. So please take care when walking around and remember that you are in an unfamiliar environment, particularly at night. It is always advisable to carry a pocket torch to assist you.
